:: Alex ::

Alex and I very often get in tiffs when I try to buckle her in her seat. She, for some reason assumes I am doing it as some torture method and will screw up her face and lustily yell (so that everyone within a quarter mile can hear), "No momma!! No! No!"

Today as I went to buckle her in she stiffened her back and began her wails. I calmly asked her to stop. No effect. I looked her in the eyes and said, "Alex, please for momma, sit and let me buckle you." And to my utter amazement she stopped yelling, contemplated a split second and then grabbed my head and rammed it against her chest in some semblance of a hug and then leaned back to be buckled in. :-) It was a definite first for is- her actually listening to me. :-)

She is getting super good at talking now. Tonight she was tired but needed a bath so I took off her clothes and reached to put her in. She scowled and said "No. No momma. Shirt. On." She scooped up her discarded clothes in a regal manner and tried to escape out of the bathroom. Thank goodness for food coloring in the tub. :-)

She also can say "I love you" now. :-)
